Long Island College Hospital could close

The fiscally troubled Long Island College Hospital will have to close down by the end of the year if the state Health Department does not vote to approve closure of the hospital’s pediatric and dentistry departments, which are losing money. The Brooklyn Heights hospital, located in several buildings on Atlantic, Henry and Hicks streets, got the state’s permission to cut its maternity ward in July.
