Prospect Heights Historic District gets strong backing

Prospect Heights residents, elected officials and community groups backed the creation of a neighborhood historic district at a Landmarks Preservation Commission hearing yesterday. The proposed district would preserve 870 properties, including residential and mixed-use buildings. Council Member Letitia James said the historic district designation is “long overdue.” The LPC hasn’t set a date for a final vote on the district yet.
