The city will allow the three
largest owner-occupied businesses to remain in Willets Point. The Bloomberg
administration is expected to present a redevelopment plan to the City Council
today that cuts more than 17 acres out of its original 62-acre redevelopment
plan, which could save millions of dollars in land acquisition costs. Tully
Environmental and Tully Construction, House of Spices and Fodera Foods will all
remain in their current locations as part of the plan, even though House of
Spices had already struck a deal with the city to be relocated.
