Phase one of Brooklyn Bridge Park, where construction began in late
October, should be completed by the end of 2009, the Brooklyn Bridge
Park Conservancy said. This phase includes Brooklyn Bridge Plaza and
Pier 1. Two-thirds of the park, which costs $47 million in total, will
be open to the public by 2013. The entire park is planned to stretch 1.3 miles from south of
Atlantic Avenue to
north of the Manhattan
Bridge.
