The New York Observer profiles Leighton Candler, a
co-op broker and Corcoran senior vice president whose listings include a 14-room duplex penthouse at 1020
Fifth Avenue, listed for $46.5 million, the late Brooke Astor’s
778 Park
Avenue duplex, on the market for $35 million, and a smaller penthouse at 1040
Fifth Avenue, listed for $43
million. In January, she brokered a $46 million deal for a duplex
penthouse at 1060 Fifth Avenue. Candler began as an interior designer
and transitioned into real
estate in 1989. She said a frugal lifestyle has carried her through
market
downturns.
