City Planning approves Gowanus plans

Toll Brothers’
development plan for the banks of the Gowanus Canal has been approved by
the Department of City Planning, and now will move on to the City
Council for final approval. The mixed-use project at 363-365 Bond
Street will have 460 units of housing, 2,000 square feet of community
facility space and 2,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. Although
Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and residents recommended
capping the building height at 85 feet, City Planning approved the developer’s plan to build up to 125 feet in height.
