Real estate pros educate SI buyers

The Staten Island Board of Realtors teamed up with Wells Fargo and the
Northfield Community Local Development Corp. to host a series of free
seminars to educate people on home buying. The seminars talk about
programs that are available to buyers, like the city’s Home First Down
Payment Assistance Program, which provides qualified buyers with 6 percent
of a home’s purchase price. Brokers said that falling prices have kept
buyers lingering on the fence. “Everybody likes to say that they want
to wait for the very bottom of the market, but you never know what the
bottom of the market is until it starts going back up again,” said George
Wonica, a broker at Wonica Realtors.
