Online commenters weigh in on listed units

Reviews of specific listings are becoming more common. Dawn Doherty, vice president for strategic development at Streeteasy, said the Web site’s traffic has “gone through the roof” in the past quarter, and other sites that post reviews of individual units, like Curbed and Brownstoner, have also seen their traffic increase. Commenters debate apartment values and flaws, and sellers and brokers must decide whether to intervene when the comments become negative. Halstead Property forbids its brokers to post comments without approval.
