At a broker bash last night, no one walked away with a Mini Cooper. The car is being offered to the retail agent who brings in a ground-floor tenant at 717 Madison Avenue, but no one has signed a contract and snagged the car yet. Faith Hope Consolo, chairman of Prudential Douglas Elliman’s retail
leasing and sales division, and Joseph Aquino, executive vice president
of the retail division, hosted the party yesterday to show off the three-level space between 63rd and 64th streets that they are marketing. The
store comprises 1,900 square feet each on the ground and
second levels and 600 square feet on the lower level, and the asking rent for the entire space is $1.3 million per year. About 200 people
attended the event, including brokers from several
firms, restaurateurs, designers and Eric Hagmueller, retail director of
the New York City Opera. TRD
