Diaz’s armory decision postponed two weeks

Bronx residents will have to wait a little longer for details on the proposed redevelopment of the Kingsbridge Armory. Although Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz was slated to announce his approval or denial of the Kingsbridge Armory project plans yesterday, Diaz has delayed judgment until Sept. 8, citing a need to hold more meetings with community leaders. The redevelopment plan has been fraught with community opposition, particularly over a proposed grocery store for the space, and repeated delays.
