Mansions and coeds, like oil and water

College dormitories rarely conjure the sense of calm and tranquility one associates with a multi-million dollar housing development — and that’s exactly why the residents of Queens’ Jamaica Estates are concerned. Twenty-five demonstrators from the community, one of the richest in the city, came out yesterday to protest the new seven-story St. John’s University dorm that now calls their neighborhood home. During the gathering residents denounced student ruckus, citing a concern for their children’s safety and well-being — one parent even expressed concern that the coeds might be seen “having sex on the street.”
