Company plans next Williamsburg power plant appeal

The company that wants to build a Williamsburg power plant on the waterfront near North 12th Street is planning another appeal after state Appellate Court judges unanimously dismissed its first one last week. TransGas Energy Systems’ proposal would construct a 1,000 megawatt plant underground on land that would otherwise become Bushwick Inlet Park. Sources told the Brooklyn Paper that the Court of Appeals was likely going to decline to hear the latest appeal, which would mean that plans for the 28-acre park could finally move forward.
