Controversial anti-high-rent party sees leadership fracture

The Rent Is Too Damn High party, a New York City-based political group predicated on, well, its members’ belief that rent is too expensive, has just been dealt a devastating blow. According to New York Magazine, party leader Jimmy McMillan has cut ties with party member Salim Ejaz, after Ejaz asked to be removed from the party’s Web site. Ejaz, who had been running for city comptroller, reportedly said that a report displayed on the group’s Web site on Brooklyn housing is anti-Semitic.
