Slide show of Tenement Museum development revealed

The Tenement Museum on the Lower East Side has begun selective demolition work at 103 Orchard Street on the corner of Delancey Street, the space that will ultimately become the museum’s visitors center. The space, formerly a clothing retail spot, has gotten a mid-renovation slideshow treatment, with the images serving as “a visual record of what’s underneath the dry wall,” according to the museum’s Web site. The museum, which currently houses its visitors center at 108 Orchard Street, purchased the property in 2007. No word yet on when the new spot will open.
