Openings and closings: Dish D’Lish opens, Noisette closes … and more

On the Upper West side, Tangled Vine wine bar is opening March 1 at 434 Amsterdam Avenue on the corner of 81st Street.

Meanwhile, on the Upper East Side, construction of clothier Reed Krakoff’s new store at 831 Madison Avenue between 69th and 70th streets is underway, and a fall 2010 opening date is expected.

In Midtown, new rooftop bar called Upstairs at the Kimberly Hotel plans to open this March at the hotel, at 145 East 50th Street between Lexington and Third avenues. Also in Midtown, My Suit, which sells made-to-measure suits, has opened at 360 Madison Avenue, and is looking for other spaces in the Wall Street and Rockefeller Center areas, according to Women’s Wear Daily.

In Chelsea, a spa featuring salt caves — thought to improve complexion and breathing — has opened in Chelsea at 133 West 22nd Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues.

The Jane Hotel’s Ballroom is reopening at 113 Jane StreetBetween Washington Street and 11th Avenue in the West Village this Monday after shuttering in October due to neighborhood complaints, according to the Dizzy Fizz.

TKettle reopened earlier this week at 26 Saint Marks Place in the East Village with more seating and full table service. Next weekend, Brindle Room will be opening at 277 East 10th Street near Avenue A.

Men’s clothier Robert Geller is operating a pop-up shop through April 15 at 129 Rivington Street near Norfolk Street on the Lower East Side. At 1 West 3rd StreetBetween Broadway And Mercer Street, a new restaurant and pub called West 3rd Common has opened, according to a press release.

In Soho, a custom-made belt shop, Badichi Belts, at 159 Prince StreetBetween Thompson Street and West Broadway has opened.

Otarian, a fast food vegetarian eatery, is emerging at 154 Bleecker Street, according to Bowery Boogie, the first East Coast outpost for Otarian. Cupcake delivery service Butch Bakery is looking to establish a store in Downtown Manhattan come spring.

There is lots of activity in Brooklyn. A new bagel shop called Dish D’Lish has opened in Sheepshead Bay at 1424 Sheepshead Bay Road. Boost Mobile has opened at 1505 Sheepshead Bay Road, also in Sheepshead Bay. Tomorrow will be the grand opening of Van Leeuwen’s ice cream shop at 632 Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint. 
Little Skips has opened at 941 Willoughby Avenue at Charles Place in Bushwick, according to BushwickBK.com. In Dowtown Brooklyn, a Subway sandwich shop is opening at 66 Court Street, the one-time home of a Blimpie sub shop. Near Nostrand Park, a new art gallery and event space called 1158 Dean is opening this weekend at 1158 Dean Street between Nostrand and Rogers avenues, according to the I Love Franklin Ave. blog.

Sid’s Hardware & Home Center is closing its Downtown Brooklyn store at 345 Jay StreetBetween Willoughby Street and Myrtle Avenue after eight decades, according to the Brooklyn Paper, in part because of high rents, but will reopen soon at 435 Hamilton Avenue at 14th Sreet near Park Slope. 

Today marks the last day for Les Desirs bakery at 236 Ninth Avenue between 24th and 25th streets in Chelsea, LaunchStalker reported.  In Williamsburg, boutique clothier Noisette is closing at 46 North 6th Street this weekend, although it plans to keep its Web store open. Sheepshead Bites brings word from a reader that Dukan, at 2321 Avenue X, has closed up shop in Sheepshead Bay. A call to Dukan revealed that its number has been disconnected. In Gerritsen Beach, Chinar Restaurant is moving from its current location at 3110 Avenue U and setting up shop on Coney Island.
