Strawberry inks lease at Ohm

Darryl Strawberry and Ohm

Baseball star Darryl Strawberry has just signed a lease for a two-bedroom unit at the Ohm building at 312 11th Avenue on the corner of 30th Street, according to the New York Post. The former Mets and Yankees player is hard at work on a new restaurant called Strawberry’s Grill in Douglaston, Queens. Although it is not immediately clear how much Strawberry will pay for his 1,050-square-foot rental, rents for two-bedroom units at the Ohm start at around $3,600. The Ohm, which started signing leases earlier this year, contains 288 units and is geared toward a younger, party-hearty crowd, according to Steve Charno, president of Douglaston Development, which is marketing the building. Ohm’s lobby regularly plays host to bands and D.J.’s, for an in-house club scene. [Post, 1st item]
