Roger Silverstein, senior vice president and heir apparent of his father, Larry of Silverstein Properties, has sold his triplex at 29 West 85th Street, near Central Park West for around $4.4 million, the Observer reported. The younger Silverstein made more than $1 million on the sale — he paid $3.35 million for the 3,140-square-foot pad five years ago — but didn’t come close to the $5.995 million he had wanted for the place in May of last year. The three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom penthouse occupies the top half of a six-story, Beaux Arts limestone townhouse. Designed by Ernest de la Torre, it has two fireplaces and two terraces with views of Central Park. The buyer was masked behind an LLC; Prudential Douglas Elliman’s Matt Holbein and Katherine Camp had the listing. [NYO]
