Style-Licious, a trendy new boutique catering to the tween crowd, is set to open next month at 1418 Second Avenue at East 74th Street, selling a variety of clothing and high-quality accessories, DNAinfo reported. Offerings will range from $8 pajama bottoms to $300 Henri Bendel costume jewelry bangles. “There’s really no store that caters to [tweens] in a boutique format — there’s only Claire’s and Icing,” said Style-Licious owner Norma Hafif, whose 15-year-old daughter, Shelly, is a style consultant for the shop. Hafif is taking over the storefront vacated by Berkley Girl, a clothing store also targeting the elusive tween market that has another branch on the Upper West Side. Berkley Girl’s owners decided to Relocate Because The Second Avenue Subway construction a block away at 73rd Street was too noisy and was interfering with the store’s foot traffic, said store manager Cynthia Santana. But Nafif said that representatives from the MTA have assured her that construction wont get any worse than it is. [DNAinfo]
