The Real Deal New York

Season two of HGTV’s “Selling New York” is set to premiere Jan. 6, with this season featuring a private 1-acre island in Willo-Isle in Patterson. The island, asking $1.55 million, includes a four-bedroom house and a guest cottage, listing agent John Mehigan of Gumley Haft Kleier told The Real Deal. The trailer, above, promises that the new season will have “more agents” and “loftier listings,” and will provide “an exclusive peek at New York luxury.” In the first episode — one of two airing consecutively on the same night — agent Samantha Kleier Forbes of Gumley Haft Kleier works with a fashion designer to find a $15,000 a month live/work rental, and Core agent Kirk Rundhaug calls in a designer to stage a $5 million Chelsea penthouse, helping him net an all-cash sale. In the second episode, Rundhaug helps a soap star decide whether to rent or sell her parents’ Gramercy Park home, while Forbes turns to her mother for help with a rich client. But “Selling New York” may face stiff competition from Bravo’s New York City edition of “Million Dollar Listing,” which will feature Core brokers Frederik Eklund and John Gomes. The pair was previously on “Selling New York” and they are now leaving Core to be on “Million Dollar Listing,” as The Real Deal first reported. TRD
