Circus to descend on Atlantic Yards

The “Greatest Show on Earth” is headed to Atlantic Yards after striking a deal with developer Bruce Ratner. According to the Brooklyn Paper, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus have inked a deal with the Barclays Center developer to bring their three-ring show to Prospect Heights in March 2013, six months after the scheduled opening date of the arena, which broke ground earlier this year. But while Ratner said he “can’t wait to see circus elephants marching down Flatbush Avenue,” City Council member Tish James, an outspoken opponent of the project, said the circus only means the addition of “more clowns to the Atlantic Yards-Barclays Center debacle.” [Brooklyn Paper]
