City Planning launches residential rezoning review for West Clinton

Aity Planning Commissioner Amanda Burden has launched a public review process for the rezoning of an 18-block area in West Clinton. The rezoning — a joint proposal from Community Board 4 and the Department of City Planning — aims to encourage new residential development, including affordable housing, on the east side of 11th Avenue, and expansion of industrial and commercial businesses from the west side of 11th Avenue to 12th Avenue. The rezoning also seeks to establish height limits and street wall requirements to preserve the area’s medium density residential neighborhood. The community board now has 60 days to review the proposal, before it goes to the Borough President, the City Planning Commission and the City Council for approval. TRD
