Geriatric group takes FiDi office

Non-profit organization the American Geriatrics Society is the latest in a string of philanthropic groups to take up space Downtown, according to the Wall Street Journal. The elder care organization has inked a deal for 8,200 square feet at 40 Fulton Street, a Vornado Realty Trust-owned building between Pearl and Cliff streets. While it was not immediately clear how much the rent is, Jennie Chin Hansen, chief executive of the society, said that her group was “able to save money by going there,” after moving out of the Empire State Building. Other non-profits to move to the Financial District recently include the AIDS Vaccine Initiative, the American Theatric Society and the New York Liquidation Bureau. Jones Lang LaSalle brokered the deal; Vornado declined to comment. [WSJ]
