Former CBGB Gallery space up for grabs

The former CBGB Gallery space at 313 Bowery has hit the sublease market, but it isn’t available to just anyone. “We’re only entertaining offers from tenants, whether they are a restaurant or traditional retailer, that can appreciate the history of the space and the Bowery,” said Cushman & Wakefield’s Steven Soutendijik, who is marketing the historic venue with his colleague, Chris Schwart. The space, which includes 3,300 square feet on the ground floor and a 5,500-square-foot basement, is next door to the former CBGB underground club space at 315 Bowery, now a John Varvatos boutique. The club and its gallery were made famous by the punk and new wave musical acts it used to host, including the Ramones, Misfits, Blondie and Patti Smith. The gallery portion is currently leased by the Morrison Hotel Gallery. TRD
