2nd Avenue Deli at 1442 First Avenue
The Second Avenue Deli’s new Upper East Side location opened at 6:30 this morning at 1442 First Avenue on the corner of 75th Street, New York Magazine reported. Two teenage girls ordering potato pancakes were the first patrons of the store. The second order, according to owner Jeremy Lebewohl, was somewhat ironic, a surgeon who wanted the “Instant Heart Attack Sandwich,” or pastrami between two potato pancakes. A dozen people were in the restaurant at about 10 a.m., Lebewohl said. The restaurant’s other location is at 162 East 33rd Street, near Third Avenue, in Murray Hill. [NY Mag]
