Jim Carrey looking at apartments downtown

Actor Jim Carrey, star of “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” and many other movies, is looking to buy a new apartment downtown, and is
hoping to spend between $5 million and $8 million, the New York Post
reported. He was recently spotted outside the Zinc condominium
building at 475 Greenwich Street in Tribeca, checking out the
2,663-square-foot penthouse duplex that’s now on the market for $5.95
million after a big price reduction.

The three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom residence at the Zinc, which was priced at $7.25
million last year, has two big terraces, including a 981-square-foot
rooftop terrace. He had recently rented a glassy residence at the
Richard Meier-designed 176 Perry Street condo in the West Village, and
he unsuccessfully tried to buy a full-floor apartment in the building
that wasn’t on the market. According to the Post, he liked the luxury
apartment, but is looking for privacy from paparazzi. [Post]
