Paula Busch, a former senior-level manager at the Corcoran Group and most recently director of sales at Town Residential, has departed Andrew Heiberger’s rapidly expanding firm after just nine months on the job, Town confirmed today.
Dennis Cusack, who joined Town as a vice president in August from Stribling & Associates, will be taking over as director of sales at the company’s 730 Fifth Avenue office, Town said, declining to reveal the circumstances of Busch’s departure, saying only that she had been “disassociated from the company for personal reasons.”
Busch, who reportedly left the firm just “a few days ago,” according to a source, wasn’t immediately reachable for comment.
Cusack told The Real Deal that he took up the position yesterday, declining to comment further on the situation.
Busch joined the company in April as director of sales saying in a statement that she was “thrilled to be joining a company as innovative and entrepreneurial as Town.” Her move followed closely on the heels of that of Ric Swezey, once the fourth-ranked Manhattan agent at Corcoran, and other high-end brokers like Wendy Maitland, who was previously at Brown Harris Stevens, and Robert Dvorin, who hailed from Prudential Douglas Elliman.
Busch was later tapped to oversee the brokerage’s new 10,000-square-foot office in the Crown building at 730 Fifth Avenue near 57th Street, which housed the company’s uptown sales and executive offices.
Town still holds Busch’s broker’s license, according to the Department of State’s website.
Wendy Jodel, vice president and associate broker in Town’s office on Fifth Avenue, said she was disappointed to see Busch depart the firm.
“She was the most amazing manager ever. She’s irreplaceable,” said Jodel, who also declined to comment on the circumstances of Busch’s departure.
While another source at a different Town office, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of reprisal for talking about company affairs, said he hadn’t received an official announcement about the change-up, a meeting for the Town Fifth Avenue office was reportedly held yesterday.
