Banker buys UES duplex for $24M

Another domestic buyer has bought a trophy Manhattan apartment. The New York Post reported that Blair Effron, a former vice chairman of UBS and founder of Clearview Partners, has bought a 9,000-square-foot co-op unit at 39 East 79th Street for about $24 million.

The unit first hit the market asking $24.5 million in March, under Corcoran Group brokers Deborah Grubman and David Dubin, before being snapped up by Effron within nine days, according to Streeteasy.com. The duplex home, spanning the entire eighth and ninth floors of the building, has four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms and a fireplace. Effron had previously lived at 830 Park Avenue.
