Frozen yogurt purveyors hot for city retail space

In this health-conscious city, there’s been a recent uptick of yogurt eateries looking for retail space, Real Estate Weekly reported.

“Off the Wall Frozen Yogurt … wanted to build its presence in Manhattan, where premium frozen yogurt has become popular among gourmets, health-nuts and families alike,” Zach Winkler, a director at RKF who represented the Long Island-based yogurt chain in its two most recent New York City locations, told Real Estate Weekly. These two new locations are situated at 248 West 23rd Street, where the eatery has a 2,000-square-foot storefront space, and 1,700 square feet at 4 West 14th Street.

As previously reported, Greek yogurt brand Chobani signed a lease on Prince Street in Soho for a yogurt bar. The brand also leases an an 11,000-square-foot office space nearby at 72 Spring Street. A Dannon affiliate named the Yogurt Culture Company opened up a café at SL Green’s 125 Park Avenue and a Prudential Douglas Elliman retail team opened Pa-Paya Seed — a low-fat, sugar-free frozen yogurt restaurant — to Harlem, Real Estate Weekly said.
