The Peninsula in Midtown
A person identified only as a white male in his 40s jumped to his death from the ultra-luxe Peninsula Hotel in Midtown this morning. DNAinfo reported that he did not work at the hotel, and the New York Daily News said it’s unclear if he was a guest there.
The man’s body hit a Cadillac Escalade parked across East 55th Street from the hotel, badly damaging the passenger side of the vehicle. He died at the scene. A driver was inside the car, but not on the side that was damaged. He escaped without injuries.
