UPDATED: Former Surf Lodge owner Steven Kamali, the president at Steven Kamali Hospitality, has sold his residential condominium for $725,000. A spokesperson for Kamali confirmed that he owned the apartment.

“It was a quaint apartment I acquired many years ago,” said Kamali in a written statement sent to The Real Deal, “but after finding a home at 66 Ninth Avenue later that year, which I liked much better, I subsequently ended up renting it out for many years, never having had the opportunity to move in myself.”

The unit that traded is located inside the Chatham in Chelsea, at 445 West 19th Street. Public records show that Steven Kamali purchased the unit in 2006 for $675,000.

According to Streeteasy.com, the unit hit the market in mid-February of this year with an asking price of $785,000. In late March, the asking price lowered to $765,000. The deed shows the sale closed on July 10. Raphael De Niro, Danielle Sevier and Evangelos Karras at Prudential Douglas Elliman marketed the property. An Elliman spokesperson declined to comment.

The one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment measures 600 square feet, according to the listing. The unit also boasts hardwood floors, new kitchen appliances and a private balcony.

As The Real Deal reported in April, Kamali sold the Surf Lodge in Montauk, which had a reported 700 pending code violations. However, a source said that the violations had nothing to do with the sale. In addition, as previously reported, Kamali announced in June that he would expand Steven Kamali Hospitality with a branch called the Chef Agency in an effort to help hotels and restaurants across the globe staff their kitchens.
