Activists are taking aim at the hotel that is slated to host Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad when he comes to New York later this month for the United Nations General Assembly. The New York Post reported that groups that oppose the Iranian regime are urging the Warwick to refuse Ahmadinejad’s business.

One of the groups, United Against Nuclear Iran, has plans for a hotel boycott and an outdoor demonstration for Ahmadinejad’s arrival during the week of the 24th. B’nai B’rith, the Jewish service organization, has twice written the hotel, asking them to deny a room to the rogue leader. Permitting Ahmadinejad to reside there while in New York “would leave a serious stain on the hotel’s reputation,” Daniel Mariaschin, B’nai B’rith’s executive vice president, told the Post.

This wouldn’t be Ahmadinejad’s first time staying at the Warwick — he stayed there last year, though the hotel would not confirm last year’s reservation. The hotel also did not respond to the Post’s request for comment. [Post]
