From the October issue: The 2012 presidential race has garnered so much attention that it’s easy to forget about the other state and federal candidates on the ballot this November. In addition to the face-off between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, New Yorkers will have a chance to vote on about two dozen candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives, one U.S. Senator (Democratic incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand) and 213 members of the New York State legislature.
State executives, such as the governor and attorney general, are not up for reelection until 2014, and municipal races will take place in 2013. [more]
