Law firm Fragomen has inked a 62,000-square-foot sublease for the tenth floor of 1301 Sixth Avenue, a space formerly occupied by the bankrupt law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf, Crain’s reported. Fragomen moved into the new space a mere 96 hours after first seeing it.

The office is about half the size of Fragomen’s 120,000-square-foot space downtown, but Dewey, which had a well-known real estate practice, left furniture behind, making the space well-suited to a law firm’s needs.

Fragomen is based at 7 Hanover Square, but the building remains out of use following Hurricane Sandy. MB Real Estate, the landlord of 7 Hanover, has not been able to provide a set timeline for when the property would reopen. An MB executive did not return Crain’s calls seeking comment.

Fragomen could remain in the former Dewey space for months, if necessary. [Crain’s]Zachary Kussin
