Years on, Prospect Heights condominium lacks certificate of occupancy

A 15-unit Karl Fischer-designed condominium building at 659 Bergen Street in Prospect Heights, which neared completion early last year, has still not received a certificate of occupancy from the New York City Department of Buildings, Brownstoner reported.

“Some buyers have been in contract for two years and expected to move in over a year ago,” the blog said. There is also a complaint with the DOB that states that someone has been living on the top floor, despite the lack of certificate of occupancy, Brownstoner noted.

Plumbing troubles are what are holding up the development, at the corner of Bergen and Vanderbilt Avenue, according to Brownstoner. Closing prices for the condos have ranged from $329,000 to $439,000, according to Streeteasy.com. [Brownstoner] –Guelda Voien
