Funny man David Javerbaum, a 12-time Emmy Award-winning comedy writer, sold his apartment at the Yves Chelsea for $3.9 million, according to city records filed today. Julie Pham of the Corcoran Group had the listing for the 2,580-square-foot condominium unit at 127 Seventh Avenue at West 18th Street, which first hit the market this past June for $4.5 million, Streeteasy.com shows.

Javerbaum worked on the staff of “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” beginning as a staff writer in 1999, then rising to head writer in 2002 and finally becoming executive producer in 2006. During his time at the show, he and the staff won a slew of Emmy Awards, a Grammy Award and two Peabody Awards. He also co-wrote the parody history text “America (The Book): A Citizen’s Guide to Democracy Inaction.”

The asking price for the five-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home slipped 11 percent to almost $4 million in July, a month after it went on the market. Javerbaum and his wife, Debra, purchased the unit in October 2008 for $3.7 million, according to public records.

The deed shows the sale went into contract on Sept. 4 and transferred on Nov. 13.

Jennifer Milacci is listed as the buyer. She appears to work at hedge fund Renaissance Technologies as managing director.

The listing says the corner-unit home has floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a balcony. Javerbaum could not immediately be reached.
