Or at least, that’s one creation myth on offer in a YouTube parody of the Paul Harvey Ram Trucks Super Bowl ad. The video, uploaded by a user named Chris Plummer, describes an average agent’s day calming landlords, finding no-fee studio apartments, riding buses during rush hour to arrive at closings, helping tourists with directions, and reading a certain New York City real estate magazine.

“God said, ‘I need somebody to get up before dawn and read The Real Deal, and work all day in the streets, read The Real Deal again, eat supper and then post 27 ads on Naked Apartments after midnight,’” the voiceover says. “So God made an agent.”–Zachary Kussin
