Lots of mansions on the Upper East Side are loaded with frills. But one that just hit the market for $10.5 million  has something a bit unusual in its backyard — at least for a home in Manhattan: a 14-foot-high treehouse.

The home, at East 93rd Street near Madison Avenue, is one of only five clapboards in the neighborhood, according to the New York Post.

Among the features of the 4,372-square-foot house are four bedrooms, five bathrooms and, of course, the treehouse, which can comfortably seat four little girls, homeowner Cynthia “C.C.” Rivera, the ex-wife of TV personality Geraldo Rivera, said.

“[My daughters] thought it looked like Stuart Little lived in the treehouse. We loved it. They’d have tea parties there with their friends,” Rivera remembered. “When I bought the home, I was told that it was the only treehouse in Manhattan and that there was another one in Brooklyn.”

Rivera paid $6.6 million for the house in 2000; Corcoran Group’s Wendy Sarasohn and Robert Browne are the brokers.

“C.C. had tons of houseguests from all over the world, and she always threatened to put them in the treehouse if they misbehaved,” Sarasohn said.[NYP] Christopher Cameron
