Two-unit Plaza combination hits market for $27M

A two-apartment combination at 1 Central Park South’s Iconic Plaza Residences has hit the market for just shy of $27 million, according to Streeteasy.com.

The ten-room, 4,368-square-foot apartment sports four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms and offers expansive views of Central Park. The seller, who listing brokers Bernice Leventhal and Sarah Thompson of the Corcoran Group identified only as a European entrepreneur, planned to combine the 17th and 18th floor apartments into one space.

“We do have DOB plans approved,” Leventhal said, and added that the seller had been using the 17th floor apartment as a pied-à-terre since buying it for $11.5 million at the bottom of the post-Lehman market. He later paid $6.3 million for the 18th floor apartment. “He Loved The Plaza. He only would buy in The Plaza,” Leventhal said.
