Scotland-based Glasgow Caledonian University is opening its first U.S. outpost on Thursday – in Soho.

The school rented a retail space at Zar Property’s 64-68 Wooster Street for 15 years. It will take up 6,500 square feet on the ground floor and 7,000 square feet on the lower level, David Zar told The Real Deal. It is expected to fit about 100 students plus faculty members.

Marc Simon of Isaacs and Company represented Zar, while Studley brokers Paul Revson, Zev Holzman and Ryan Rafter represented Glasgow Caledonian University.

The university opened a campus in London in 2010. Classes range from fashion business to TV drama writing.

“Like London, GCU New York will adopt a pioneering approach, evolving business relevant content and new teaching methods to complement the digital age,” said Pamela Gillies, principal and vice chancellor of the school. [Evening Times]Mark Maurer
