Brooklyn landlord and developer Realty Within Reach has plans for a 114-unit Crown Heights apartment complex and synagogue on a site that once held the 1920s-era movie palace the Fox Savoy Theatre, according to Department of Buildings documents filed earlier this week.

Issac & Stern Architects is set to design the 10-story, 90,806-square-foot project at 1515 Bedford Avenue near Lincoln Place, according to BuzzBuzzHome. The first floor will apparently be busy – with a synagogue lobby, sanctuary, pastor’s study and retail space. There will also be underground parking for 30 cars, a laundry room and rooftop event space. Whether the units will be rentals or condominiums is unknown.

The three-story building that sits there now is slated for demolition. Architect Thomas Lamb designed it for 20th Century Fox founder William Fox; it opened its doors in 1927 as a 2,750-seat theater. Charity Neighborhood Baptist Church bought the property in 1969, after the theater closed. It then sold it for $575,000 last year. [BuzzBuzzHome]Mark Maurer
