Bond New York’s Upper East Side office had an unwelcome visitor Monday afternoon, as an automobile ran over the sidewalk and slammed into the brokerage’s front window.

The driver lost control of the car and crashed into the office at 1500 Second Avenue at 78th Street, the FDNY told NBC. The crash occurred around 2:00 p.m. and two individuals were injured, according to FDNY statements cited by NBC and Gothamist.

“Our office’s storefront and lobby have been destroyed by a car that drove through it this afternoon,” Noah Freedman, co-founder of the brokerage, said in a statement. Freedman said no one had been hurt, however, contrary to the NBC report.

“We are extremely thankful and relieved that no one — including the driver — was injured. The rest of the office is intact and our agents and staff will be at the ready to serve our clients as always. Like all New Yorkers, we have endured far worse and look forward to rebuilding our office better than it was before.”

How or why the driver lost control is unclear as of yet, and no charges have been filed, according to NBC. [NBC]Julie Strickland
