Dixon Advisory, an Australian financial services firm, added a record-setting purchase to its recent shopping spree in the New York area.

The firm bought a single-family brownstone in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn, for $1.85 million — a record for a single-family home in the neighborhood, according to Fillmore Real Estate broker Louis Belisario. A limestone building in the neighborhood, at 52 Midwood Street, has held the record since 2007, when it changed hands for $1.67 million. A property at 111 Clarkson Avenue sold last year for $2.8 million, but isn’t considered a record in the same category because it was sold as a development site, Brownstoner reported.
