Hot on the heels of signing a three-year, $45 million deal with the New York Yankees, former New York Mets outfielder Carlos Beltran is selling his home on Long Island.

Beltran’s 7,500-square-foot home at 70 Old House Lane in Long Island’s Sands Point is in contract after just under two years on the market, Douglas Elliman broker Nick Colombos, who represented the seller with the Colombos-Dooley team, told The Real Deal. The property first hit the market in Feb. 2012, shortly after Beltran signed with the St. Louis Cardinals in December, and was listed with Laffey Fine Homes. The listing then changed brokers to Colombos in March of 2013, at which point the ask was slashed from $5.8 million to the current $4.725 million.

Colombos declined to disclose the purchaser’s identity – saying only that “the buyer is not from this country” – or for how much the seven-bedroom pad is currently in contract. He noted that Beltran and wife Jessica want to keep the number private until the sale closes, which Colombos said will be within two months.

“The house was listed last March, and at that point he didn’t know he was going to go to the Yankees,” Colombos said regarding the sale’s timing. “Then we continued with the sale, and they want a change.”

Beltran, who bought the home as a new construction in 2005 for $4.25 million, according to PropertyShark, did not immediately respond to request for comment on the current sale.

The luxurious two-story pad, a mere 30-minute driving from Beltran’s old workplace at Citi Field, boasts seven bedrooms, six baths, an extra-large gourmet kitchen, gym, backyard patio with granite pool, basement sports bar lined with televisions and a game room.
