The Winged Victory of Samothrace and renderings of Vasily Klyukin’s building

WEEKENDEDITION The renowned Russian architect Vasily Klyukin is hoping to bring an ancient sculpture to life in a city near you.

Klyukin has designed a building based on the Winged Victory of Samothrace, a marble sculpture of the Greek goddess Nike crafted sometime around 200 BCE, according to Buzzbuzzhome.

“I wanted to compete in beauty, playing with the acts and forms,” Klyukin said. “I just couldn’t bypass the goddess of beauty and victory with my attention.”

However, the architect’s design doesn’t currently have a potential home – although, based on the renderings, Klyukin might like it to be on the waterfront. [Buzzbuzzhome]Christopher Cameron
