WEEKENDEDITION Former Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will now promote the borough as the vice president for “borough promotion and engagement” at NYC & Company — the city’s nonprofit marketing arm.

Markowitz  will receive a raise from $160,000 to $180,000, while gaining access to his pension after 34 years of government service, according to the New York Post.

Last year, NYC & Company, the group behind popular institutions such as NYC Restaurant Week, raised nearly $37 million in private and public revenues — including $12.5 million from the city. New York City saw a record 54 million tourists in 2013, and is shooting for the 55 million this year. [NYP] Christopher Cameron
