Ehrenberg keeps post at Brooklyn Navy Yard while engineer to head Design and Construction

Mayor Bill de Blasio appointed the heads of four administration agencies Tuesday: the Department of Design and Construction, Department of Finance, the Mayor’s Office of Contract Services and the Brooklyn Navy Yard Corporation.

Dr. Feniosky Peña-Mora was tapped to lead the Department of Design and Construction, Jacques Jiha will head the Department of Finance, Lisette Camilo is to direct the Mayor’s Office of Contract Services and David Ehrenberg was reappointed president and chief executive officer of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation.

Peña-Mora, an engineer with more than two decades of research and industry work experience, according to a release from the mayor’s office, will be tasked with building public works, renovating and constructing municipal facilities. Jiha has a background in public finance and will be responsible for monitoring the city’s treasury, property tax assessments, audits and collections. Camilo is a New York City government attorney who has focused on growing jobs for minority and women-owned businesses.

David Ehrenberg will continue overseeing the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s 1.8 million-square-foot expansion and work with the Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development and the Economic Development Corporation to spur jobs with the Navy Yard’s employers, according to the release. — Julie Strickland
