Unfinished House breaks the fourth wall

Japanese architect's designs give new meaning to the phrase "open floor plan"

WEEKENDEDITION Japanese architect Yamazaki Kentaro has designed a cutting-edge home that is high on concept but short on walls and privacy.

The two-story, wooden structure, dubbed Unfinished House, was built in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, according to Buzzbuzzhome. And while, from the outside, it may appear like so many modernist constructions, inside, the fourth wall has been cut from every room – even the bathroom.

“This house, born of long, fruitful discussions with the client creates a space where I hope the family and the building itself can grow close together.”

It’s hard to imaging a New York City family making a similar request of their architect, but stranger things have hit the market.
