Asher Alcobi, president and founder of Peter Ashe Private Real Estate Services, has opened a new ground-level office for his boutique firm.

The roughly 500-square-foot office space at 835 Lexington Avenue is just a stone’s throw away from their main office, which occupies the third floor of an office building at 841 Lexington Avenue. The firm, which Alcobi founded in 1992, serves the Upper East Side community and deals mostly in residential listings, with the exception of one broker — an 85-year-old retired attorney — who strictly works on commercial deals.

One of the company’s current listings is the 3,800-square-foot Lenox Hill townhouse at 169 East 71st Street, best known as the home of Audrey Hepburn’s character Holly Golightly in the 1961 film, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” Peter Ashe listed the townhouse for $10 million last week.

Referring to the firm as “the neighborhood guys,” Alcobi highlighted the importance of having the new office on the ground floor. “We wanted to reach out to the neighborhood and be visible, accessible, and at eye-level,” Alcobi said. Visibility is key at the all-glass office, which features a virtual station for customers to use.

Despite the addition, Alcobi stressed that he is not looking to expand much beyond the 12 active brokers that the firm currently employs.

“We’re going to hire four to five new people. That’s all we have room for,” Alcobi said. He added, “I want to do real estate and live. I like to keep an easy, simple life.”
