WeWork inks first Brooklyn spot in Williamsburg

Office space share snags entire second floor above planned Whole Foods

Shared office space provider WeWork has signed on for 40,000 square feet above the planned Williamsburg Whole Foods, securing the company’s first Brooklyn location.

The 242 Bedford Avenue space, which will take the entire second floor at Aurora Capital Associates’ property, ran around $50 per square foot, according to the New York Observer.

A partnership of Michael Cayre’s Midtown Equities, Bobby Cayre’s Aurora Capital and Alex Adjmi picked up the property in 2012 for $23 million, with plans for a $40 million, 150,000-square-foot development to include Whole Foods, a New York Sports Club and luxury rental apartments.
