WEEKENDEDITION For almost a year now, Atlantic Center Mall has played host to a teen “fight club,” according to locals and police. No wonder Barclays Center has become the most watched piece of property in Brooklyn, with roughly a dozen police security camera stations.

As many as 30 teens routinely gather at Hanson Place and South Elliott Place — the northeast corner of the mall — to fight. And recently someone fired a gun during one of the clandestine gatherings, according to DNAinfo.

“It’s like watching ‘Fight Club’ the movie with two kids getting ready to fight and a circle around them,” local Stephanie Seto said, referring to the 1999 film based on the Chuck Palahniuk novel.

The fights are apparently organized via social media and police are now attempting to monitor Twitter and Facebook.

“Fight club is organized by kids on Facebook and Twitter, and then they get in a circle and they fight. And where they like to fight is by the mall,” 88th Precinct commanding officer Capt. Peter Fiorillo said. “But then someone brought a gun to the fight and shots were fired.”

So far no arrests related to the shooting have been made. [DNAinfo] Christopher Cameron
